GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE BID
The Town of Palm Beach seeks proposals for the planting of native sea oats within four constructed and existing dune areas at Town Reaches 8, 7 (Phipps), 3 (North Mid-Town) and 4 (Clarke Ave. and Mid-Town).
Areas for dune planting are delineated within the project drawings (Applied Technology & Management, Inc., Dated 10/19/18).
In addition, removal of exotic vegetation is required within the existing dune areas within Reach 4 as delineated within the project drawings. Planting will focus on currently un-vegetated areas of the dune.
Pedestrian paths will remain un-vegetated in front of all condominium or public park stairs or other beach access points currently being utilized. East coast of Florida sea oats seed is required. All planting must be completed before March 1, 2019.
Contractors are requested to bid on the following plant specifications:
Sea Oats:
72 cell liner size or larger with 18 inches of height from root ball to outstretched end of leaf blade.
Planted 12" on center.
Approximately 106,000 plant units.
Estimate of Project Magnitude: $200,000 to $250,000.
A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. on November 28, 2018, at the Public Works Facility, located at 951 Okeechobee Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. Attendance is strongly encouraged as this will be the only forum to seek clarification from Town staff. After the Bid has been awarded, no extra charge or compensation will be allowed as a result of failure to attend the conference and resulting site visit.
